DIOSNA machines and equipment are used by leading companies worldwide.
They are the product of proven reliability and know-how in a wide variety of applications and
handling many products. DIOSNA Systems stand for innovative pharmaceutical production equipment of
constantly high quality.
DIOSNA offers the principal elements of modern solids production plant - the mixer-granulator and
fluid bed dryer - from one source.
In our new CCS concept these two pieces of equipment are coupled together. This allows optimal
arrangement of the production area, and the most effective interfacing.
Single sourcing pays.
Mixers and dryers are matched. The installation can be optimized, and maximum efficiency of the
production process is guaranteed. Either vertical or horizontal product flow
can be provided. Both pieces of equipment are operated from a common operator
interface.
Nevertheless each machine remains independent and can be run without the other at any time. Not
only does the combination of the items of plant allow completely closed product
transfer and the utilization of common cleaning devices but also gives simple
and effective controls for the operating and maintenance personnel.
VCC considerably reduces process times with consistently
high product quality.
The importance of tablet coating is increasing. Both marketing needs & pharmaceutical
aspects for high quality coatings are the main factors driving the demand for a fast, reliable
coating technology. DIOSNA has succeeded in meeting these challenges successfully with the new Vertical
Centrifugal Coater VCC* which is causing a very positive feedback among experts
within the pharmaceutical industry.
How does the Vertical Centrifugal Coater work?
Unlike conventional drum coaters, the VCC coater has two
cones, vertically positioned and one located inside the other. The outer cone
rotates and the product to be coated gently rises up the outer cone using the
centrifugal forces. At the top edge of the bowl the products is led into the
stationery inner retune cone through guides.
Once within the inner cone the
product falls through the hole in the bottom where the tablets are sprayed with
the coating material by means of a spray nozzle which sprays with an angle of
360˚. All tablets moving through it are coated. The circulating movements
of the tablets it repeated. This unique product flow eliminates the formation
of neutral or dead zones – another disadvantage of conventional drum coaters.
During circulation, the tablets are evenly and intensively dried (i.e. when
centrifugally flowing upwards as well as during the return through the
perforated inner cone). Initial drying of the tablets takes place immediately after
spraying by supplying drying air from below through the perforated bottom of
the bowl.
Because of the optimized product flow and the fact that the
coating material is applied “little and often” drying times of the VCC are fast
and process times can be reduced to 50% or even less – with both organic and
aqueous based processes. As a result you obtain a quick and even coating. Even
with “difficult to handle” products such as friable and delicate material or
shapes, the VCC coating technology gives excellent coating results- due to the
very gentle, controlled product flow.
