Hydro Aluminium Production Sites

Germany
Hydro Aluminium Deutschland GmbH, Grevenbroich
In their Grevenbroich plant near Duesseldorf, Germany, they produce an extensive range of aluminium foil and strip from hot-rolled foil stock.

The use of high-tech, state-of-the-art production facilities enables them to produce large volumes of consistently high-quality aluminium foil. This foil can be lacquered, laminated or coated in accordance with customer requirements.

Italy
Hydro Aluminium Slim S.p.A., Cisterna
In their Italian plant, situated to the south-east of Rome, they produce foil directly from hot-rolled strip. Hydro monitor all process steps ourselves, from the initial aluminium strip to the end product. Household foil and aluminium foil for aseptic packaging are made at the plant. The main focus of production, however, is on strip with a thickness of more than 200 µm.

Spain
Hydro Aluminium Inasa S.A., Irurtzun
The Business Unit Foil also produces foil and thin strip in Irurtzun, north Spain, mainly for the packaging industry. Their Spanish plant is well-known for its high service flexibility, its product quality and its focus on customer needs.

Malaysia
Hydro Aluminium Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Pasir Gudang, Johor
In their most recent acquisition – the Pasir Gudang rolling mill, located some 30 km from Singapore – they use continuous strip casting technology to produce aluminium sheet, foil and strip in a variety of alloys, tempers and thicknesses for a wide range of applications. Their extremely thin foil at 6 µm, for example, is used in the manufacture of aseptic packaging.

The production facilities at this site are highly flexible allowing Hydro to produce smaller diameter coils and small batch sizes to meet our customers’ requirements, especially for the Asian markets.
